A businesswoman and founder of a cosmetic empire, Helena Rubinstein (1872-1965) brought together an eclectic art collection for her lifetime, making her one of the most important collectors and patrons of the first half of the 20th century. From this vertiginous accumulation, African art and, to a lesser extent, the Oceanic, Amerindian and Indonesian arts constitute the most remarkable ensemble - a set that "Madame" has displayed and directed in her interiors, and which has been dispersed after his death during historical auctions.
