Amazonas
AMAZÔNIA - Indigenous creations and futures
Description
The book Amazonas offers a journey between photography and science to meet the inhabitants of the Amazon basin. These inhabitants are the first to suffer from environmental degradation linked to deforestation, but also the first to benefit from the economic boom that results from it. Faced with this dilemma, what do they ultimately think about deforestation? What relationship do they have with the Amazon? The multidimensional project, scientifically led by Lauriane Mouysset and embodied by Emeric Fohlen's documentary photography, explores these questions. The book Amazonas immerses us in a rich and contrasting landscape as we discover the diverse Amazonian population. Scientific stops scattered throughout the photographic journey illustrate how research in ecological economics can help us better understand fragments of our world, our societies and the natural environment in which we live.
