Description
El Puente is the first fair trade organisation to be established in Germany in 1972. It took this Hispanic-sounding name, which means the bridge, to symbolize the link between producers in the South and consumers in the North. El Puente, pioneer of Fair Trade in Europe, offers a wide range of handmade objects, decoration, gifts, educational games, home furnishings, fashion accessories, jewelry, slings, leather goods and many others, all from fair trade sectors. It is active in 40 countries in South America, Africa, the Middle East and South-East Asia and employs more than 120 cooperatives and production workshops.
