Beaux Arts Amazônia : Créations et futurs des peuples autochtones
AMAZÔNIA - Indigenous creations and futures
Description
The exhibition Amazônia: Indigenous Creations and Futures aims to convey a worldview derived from the stories and works of art created by the peoples of the Amazon. Today, we tend to imagine them as uneventful, inhabiting a vast forest. Yet the cultural diversity of the Amazonians is astonishing to those who have sought to discover it. The Musée du Quai Branly aims to shed new and original light on its so-called "ethnographic" collections, as well as those owned by European museums and others. For the first time, works of so-called "contemporary art" will be exhibited, which in reality are a continuation of the cultural traditions of the Amazon. In addition, an important place will be reserved for music, dance, and traditional knowledge. Beaux Arts Éditions aims to provide more direct access to the discourses and worldviews of Amazonian peoples by providing the keys to understanding the concepts of creation in the Amazon.
