The Musée du Quai Branly is launching in Paris a new festival of the image linked to the "non-western" world: Photoquai, the biennale of images of the world. Located on the banks of the Seine and the Debilly footbridge, around the musée du quai Branly and in a dozen partners, this international festival of revelation, not of consecration, brings together photographers and artists of today.
"The world looks at the world", the general theme of the first edition, brings together non-Western photographers whose point of view resolutely artistic away from the exotic visions or images of photo-reportage. Photoquai festival, both popular, accessible to all, and "pointy" for amateurs and professionals, combines monographic exhibitions in outdoor walks, along the banks of the Seine, exhibitions inside institutions, as well as exceptional meetings at the Claude Lévi-Strauss Theater and workshops with partner schools.
The general catalog both beautiful book and memory of the event, is the reference of the biennale. All the photographers presented on the quays are listed there, as well as the exhibitions of the partners .
