"Devoted to the transformations of plastic creation in Haiti, over the period from the 1930s-1940s to the present day, this issue of Gradhiva focuses on two particularly significant moments of reconfiguration: the one that began in the 1930s-1950s and the one that took place in the 1980s-1990s, showing how creators work and rework stabilized forms while constantly inventing new ones and exploring the possibilities offered by hitherto unexploited materials and techniques. The contributions gathered in this issue explore more specifically two large interconnected themes: on the one hand the "creative process" (creativity, knowledge, memories), on the other hand the institutional dynamics (art center, market, museum, international exhibitions)."
