"In this incredible universe, there are "passport masks", often also called "miniature masks".
They are particularly used in Central Africa (Cameroon, Gabon, Congo) and the legend tells that they were used as identity card and passport to move inside the territory. They were used to identify the social position of each individual in the village or tribe. They were used to distinguish the different trades within the community."
