The Japanese tea ceremony is called Chanoyu, Sado or just Ocha in Japanese. During a choreographed ritual Japanese green tea, called Matcha, is prepared and served together with traditional Japanese sweets to bring the bitter taste of tea more into balance. The ceremony is not so much about drinking tea, but about the aesthetics, the preparation of a cup of tea from your heart. The host of the ceremony takes his guests into account with every movement and gesture. Even with the placement of the other utensils, the viewpoint of the guests is taken into account, in particular the main guests who are called Shokyaku.
