This small poster was created by Ambrym, a brand created by Gabrielle Gérard in 2008.
Ambrym is the name of an isolated island in the Vanuatu archipelago in the South Pacific where Gabrielle grew up.
Back in Paris, she entered the ESMOD fashion school, trained at the handicraft center of Wallis and Futuna, then worked with seamstresses from disadvantaged neighborhoods in northern Rio de Janeiro.
She established herself as an artist and then exhibited her works at the Musée du Quai Branly. Tropical flowers, vegetable gardeners or birds of paradise are silkscreened, her concept being to create the universe of a humanist urban tribe and poet.
The design and creation of Ambrym's creations are part of a sustainable and reasoned consumption, borrowed from ecological values.
