Trees grown in nurseries in Senegal and replanting in pots.
These are rooted cuttings. They are white and fragrant.
The proposed trees are raised in a nursery in Senegal from seeds. They are not torn from their natural environment.
In what living conditions does he live?
The baobab is a very robust tree. In its natural environment, it can live up to 2,000 years. In France, it must be planted in a pot, indoors most of the year. It must be guaranteed a minimum of 12 ° C.
Give it as much heat and light as possible.
Trees should be watered maximum every two weeks in summer, and monthly in winter. The soil must be completely dry before watering again. Baobabs are much more resistant to lack of water than to too much water. If in doubt, wait more before watering.
The baobab is a very slow growing tree. The trunk grows a few centimeters a year. But new large branches and leaves grow very quickly.
The trees are pruned before being sent from Senegal to France. For phytosanitary reasons, they must have no leaves, no new branches, no soil. The baobabs can remain for months above ground, they have all the necessary reserves of water and nutrients in the trunk. Once planted and watered, the trees resume their growth.
Baobabs lose the majority of their leaves each winter. During this period, keep the trees warm and water little.
